Mearl W. Tennant 79, of Woodstock, died Thursday June 21, 2018, at JourneyCare Hospice Inpatient Unit in Woodstock
He was born in Janesville, Wis., on June 5, 1939, to Earl and Elizabeth (Hartwig) Tennant. He married Betty Croner on Nov. 3, 1974, in Woodstock.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1963, and was a member of Vietnow. He worked for many years at Standard Plastics in Elk Grove Village. He enjoyed his time as a bus driver at Family Alliance in Woodstock. He enjoyed woodworking, and loved making things for his family. He loved to tell stories to all his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Betty; three sons, Bruce (Lisa) Dahl, Michael Tennant, and Steven Tennant; three daughters, Michelle (Allan) Anderson, Kimberly Tennant, and Christie Tennant; two grandsons, Ryan Anderson and Bryce Dahl; a twin brother, Earl (Wilma) Tennant, and brothers Darrell Tennant, Davin (Kristen) Alan, and Dale (Dawn) Tennant; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial gathering will be from 10 a.m. until a memorial services at 11 a.m. Monday at Schneider, Leucht, Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, Woodstock.
