Mary Krchak

Mary Krchak, 88, Woodstock, died Thursday, Feb. 7, at Hospice & Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois Inpatient Unit at Centegra Specialty Hospital – Woodstock.

She was born Aug. 3, 1924, in Little Prairie, Wis., to Albert and Florence Huth.

On Feb. 18, 1950, she married Frank Krchak.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Woodstock for more than 50 years and worked as a dietary assistant at Memorial Hospital in Woodstock for more than 25 years.

She enjoyed the outdoors, and the beach and her garden were her favorite places to be. She also was artistic and enjoyed painting and drawing.

She was loved and will be missed.

Survivors include a son, Fred (Lucy) Krchak; a daughter, Wendy (Bill) Judd; four grandchildren, Amy (Terry) Peterson, Erica (Paul) Nikstad and Natalie and Lucas Judd; a great-grandchild, Noah Peterson; and a sister-in-law, Julie Bobb.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Frank Krchak Jr.; a sister, Vivian; and a brother, Douglas.

Visitation was Feb. 10 at Schneider-Leucht-Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, Woodstock. The funeral was Feb. 11 at First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Kurt Gamlin officiated. Burial was at McHenry County Memorial Park.
