Marlon H. Gray

Marlon H. Gray, 78, Woodstock, died suddenly Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at his home.

He was born March 29, 1937, to Coy and Lillian Gray in Princeton, Ky. 

On Sept. 23, 1961, he married Dorothy M. Spaulding.

He was a 1956 graduate of Woodstock Community High School and served in the U.S. Army. A lifelong carpenter and general contractor, he loved his work. In 1988, he and his son, Nickolas, formed North Suburban Builders Inc. He served as president. He was a longtime member of the McHenry County Home Builders Association, serving on the board of directors and as secretary, vice president and president. He was a good man who loved life and his family.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Nickolas (Pam) Gray, Woodstock; a daughter, Patricia (Andrew) Johnson, Bristol, Wis.; three grandchildren, Garrett, Abigail and Madeline Johnson; and a brother, Donald (Roberta) Gray, North Carolina.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Bill and Noah.

Services will be private. 

Memorials may be made to the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District or a charity of choice.

Arrangements were made by Schneider-Leucht-Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home.
