Marian E. Lang, 82

Marian E. Lang, age 82, of Woodstock, passed away Feb. 11, 2023, in Huntley with her loving family by her side.

Marian was born on June 8, 1940, in Greenwood, the daughter of Ralph and Cora (Wilcox) Stecker. She married Ralph Lang on Feb. 14, 1959, at First United Methodist Church in Woodstock.

Marian was a member of the First United Methodist Church for over 69 years and was very active in the church. She enjoyed being in the Genesis group, HCE Homemakers club, and the quilting club. She was a member of 4-H Club as well as Nash car club. She grew up working at the Lang’s News Depot on the Square doing the bookkeeping for her family business. She then retired from Bohn’s Ace Hardware in Woodstock, where she was a cashier for 10 years. She enjoyed sewing, camping in Milton, Wis., baking cookies and cheesecake. She truly enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Scott (Lisa) Lang, Cindy (Chuck Zimmerman) Hasty, and Patti (Terry) Wilson; grandchildren, Cassandre (Owen) Bennett, Laura Lang Nelson, Michael Lang, Brianna (Eric Gilbert) Hasty, Brandon (Karrie Vernon) Hasty, Bryce (Becca) Buss, Tarryn Buss, Jake Buss, Whitney (William) Eigenfeld, and Danny (Jessica) Wilson; great-grandchildren, Mason, Joshua, Jaxson, Bentley, Liam and Paxton; special niece, Vicki Lang; brother, Ralph Stecker; sister-in-law, Anita Stecker; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Bill Stecker; a sister-in-law, Shirley Stecker; and a sister, Carol Raffel.

The visitation will take place on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2023, from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 201 W. South St., Woodstock, IL 60098. Burial will be in McHenry County Memorial Park cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church.
