Margaret Hrncar, 80, Woodstock, died Sunday, July 24, 2016, at Hearthstone Manor, Woodstock, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Jan. 17, 1936, to Fred and Bernice (VanRiemsdyk) Solms in Chicago.
On Oct. 26, 1957, she married Stephen Hrncar.
She graduated from St. Bernard’s School of Nursing in Chicago. She began her career at Woodstock Memorial Hospital and discovered a passion for emergency-room nursing. She was an avid reader and lover of books and a member of the National Association of Miniature Enthusiasts. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her loving family.
Survivors include four children, Denise Hrncar, Stephen (Carol) Hrncar, Diana (Steve) Raney and Michael (Valerie Lang) Hrncar; five grandchildren, Katrina Steadman, Stephanie (Dan) Christensen, Joshua Farrell (Terry Teele), Abigail (Eric) Guzman and Amber (Josh Sainor) Raney; five great-grandchildren, Carolin Arizzi, Dominic Arizzi, Allee Guzman, Brody Guzman and Dominic Farrell Teele; a brother, Henry (Pat) Solms; a sister, Mary Cecilia Brant; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Fredric Solms; and a brother-in-law, Jerry Brant.
Visitation was July 29 at Schneider, Leucht, Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, Woodstock.
The funeral Mass was July 30 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Woodstock. Burial was at Calvary Cemetery, Woodstock.
Masses in her name would be appreciated.
