Louise J. Smith 86, of Woodstock passed away on Saturday Jan. 8, 2022, at Northwestern Hospital-Huntley.

She was born in Woodstock on June 28, 1935, to Lewis and Sofie (Helm) Larsen. She married Donald Smith on June 2, 1956.

She was a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Church in Woodstock. She was employed at Eaton Controls in Crystal Lake for many years, retiring in 2000. Then she worked at Centegra Hospital for 5 years. She was a member of the Woodstock VFW Women’s Auxiliary, and she loved to embroider and crochet. She also enjoyed reading.

She is survived by two nephews, Randy (Felicia) Larsen and Roger (Kelly) Larsen; her great-nephew, Caden Larsen, and great-niece, Katy Larsen; sister-in-law, Dorothy Larsen; cousin, Darlene (Loren) Hopper; her godchild, Darren (Julie) Smith; and many other nieces and nephews and great-nieces and -nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a brother, Raymond Larsen.

Her family would like to thank all the caregivers from Comfort Care.

The visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022, starting at 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 1300 Kishwaukee Valley Road, Woodstock, IL. Burial will be at McHenry County Memorial Park, Woodstock.
