Linda J. Frenk

Linda J. Frenk (Laitinen), 57, Woodstock, died Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. 

She graduated from Waukesha South High School, Wis., in 1973. After graduating from Carroll College, she taught high school English and theater for several years. She then worked in the telecommunications industry for more than 30 years. She also worked as a regional training consultant for Windstream Communications.

She was known for her generous spirit, loved the holidays and was active in community theater where she performed, directed or choreographed more than 60 productions at Waukesha Civic Theatre, Carroll College, Shorewood Players, the Milwaukee Players and summer stock in Lake Geneva. 

Survivors include her husband, Ken; her parents, Robert and Doris Laitinen, Waukesha; two sisters, Janet (Jim) Vaughan, Eagle, Idaho, and Kathi Cabeke, Keller, Texas; two nephews, Mitchell and James; a niece, Samantha; a stepson, Ryan (Jeni) Frenk, Harvard; a stepdaughter, Kelly (Tracy) Wilson, Sapulpa, Ohio;  four grandchildren, Nolan and Kaitlin Frenk; and Keshia and Jolie Wilson; a sister-in-law, Pam (Bob) Taunis, Harvard; special friends, Katie (Rob) Lesser and their children, Sequoia, Aspen, Raven and Ashton, Woodstock; her shopping buddy and life mentor, Dr. Paula (Paul) Crandall-Decker, Hartland, Wis.; and lifelong friend, Connie (John) Borley, Grapevine, Texas.

A celebration of her life will be from 10 to 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, at Church and Chapel Funeral Service, 380 Bluemound Road (Highways J and JJ), Waukesha, Wis., followed by burial in Highland Memorial Park, 14875 W. Greenfield Ave., New Berlin, Wis.
