Lavergne Peters, 96, Woodstock

Lavergne Peters, 96, Woodstock, died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2016, at Crossroads Nursing Home, Woodstock. 

She was born Dec. 10, 1919, to Frank and Lisetta (Kott) Erickson in Chicago. 

On May 11, 1946, she married Clarence W. Peters in Chicago. 

She worked as a secretary for Peters Antiques and Peters Motors. She and her husband were members of the Antique Car Club in Woodstock. She loved reading and music and passed on that passion to her son. 

Survivors include a son, Craig (Wendy) Peters, Crystal Lake; two grandchildren, Tracy Peters, Sweden, and Ryan (Audrey) Peters, Woodstock; two great-grandchildren, Kane and Adrian Peters; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband and two sisters, Florence Zarth and Evelyn Strom.

A memorial gathering will be held at a later date. The family thanks the staff, nurses and residents at Crossroads for their loving care.
