Kent N. Frisbie, 62

Kent N. Frisbie, 62, of Woodstock passed away peacefully on Sept. 10, 2023,­ at his home with his wife and children by his side.

He was born Nov. 28, 1960, in Woodstock to David A. and Devona M. (Nelson) Frisbie. He married Diana L. Marlott in Peoria, Ill., in April 1984.

Kent was a proud graduate of Woodstock High School and Augustana College. He joined his father in the Frisbie, Overly and Foote Insurance agency in Woodstock in 1986. The agency evolved and, in 1989, Kent was joined by his brother-in-law, Luke Lohmeyer, and soon after the Frisbie & Lohmeyer Insurance Agency was established. The agency has been and continues to be a committed business entity in Woodstock.

Kent was an active part of the Woodstock community. He was a committed member of the Woodstock Rotary Club, building lifelong friendships and contributing in many ways. He was a dedicated and active member of Grace Lutheran Church and served the church in several different capacities. He was a member of the Woodstock Country Club, and Kent was a proud co-founder of the Woodstock Three Fermenters.

Kent cherished his family and friends and truly cared for all of the people in his life. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and son. Kent was a kind and considerate person with a warm and welcoming smile.

He is survived by his wife, Diana M. Frisbie; his mother, Devona Frisbie Edinger; his children, Laura (Steve) Prorok, Tim (Cathy) Frisbie, and Julia (Drew) Furlano; grandchildren, Jackson, Beckett, and Colton Prorok, Chase and Whitney Frisbie, and Graham and Weston Furlano. He is also survived by a brother, Hugh (Marlene) Frisbie; a sister, Ellen (Luke) Lohmeyer; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Nancy Marlott; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, David A. Frisbie, and his stepfather Sidney Edinger.

A celebration of life will be held at the Grace Lutheran Church, 1300 Kishwaukee Valley Road, Woodstock, on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023, from 11 a.m. until the 3 p.m. memorial service. Interment services in Oakland Cemetery will be private.
