Kenneth F. Swan, 96, Woodstock, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012, at Valley Hi Nursing Home, Woodstock.
He was born Aug. 20, 1916, in Powers Lake, Wis., to Frank and Helena (Baumann) Swan.
On July 3, 1948, he married Irene Hopper.
He was a charter member at Grace Lutheran Church in Woodstock. He was the owner and operator of National Stamping Inc. from 1969 to 1981, and was a member of Woodstock Moose Lodge 1329. He loved to garden, and he would always lend a helping hand to family, friends and neighbors. He will be missed.
Survivors include three daughters, Caryl (Dr. Robert) Swanson, Ann (Stuart) Given and Barbara (Floyd) McPherson; 11 grandchildren, Bradley, Kristin, Amy, Erin, Erik, Kelly, Shauna, Wanda, Peggy, Roger and Alan; 23 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 60 years, on Jan. 13, 2008; an infant son, Frankie, in 1950; a sister, Rita McFaul; and an infant brother, Gordon.
Visitation was Oct. 26 at Grace Lutheran Church, Woodstock.
The funeral was Oct. 27 at the church.
Burial was at Crystal Lake Memorial Park.
