K. James “Jim” McCaleb

 

K. James “Jim” McCaleb, 79, Hebron, Ind., died Saturday, March 31, 2012.

He was born in Ottawa. He graduated from Illinois State University and received a doctorate from Michigan State University.

He developed the degree completion program for public safety at Calumet College of St. Joseph and retired as a professor of behavioral sciences from South Suburban College, South Holland.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, E. Ann McCaleb.

Survivors include his wife, Pat McCaleb, Woodstock; a daughter, Julie Ann (James) Morris, Crown Point, Ind.; a son, David James (Laurel A.) McCaleb, Chicago; three grandchildren, Kailey (Brad) Gernenz, Jason Morris and Grace McCaleb; and a great-grandson, Logan.

The visitation was April 3 at Burns Funeral Home, Crown Point.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, St. Mary Catholic Church, at 321 E. Joliet, Crown Point.
