June Elaine Miller, 87

June Elaine Miller, age 87, of Monroe, Wis., passed away on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2018, at the Pleasant View Nursing Home. She was born on June 13, 1931, the daughter of George and Ida (Prehm) Landwehr in Bensenville, Ill. She was a 1949 graduate of Elgin High School in Illinois. June was united in marriage to David F. Miller on Nov. 23, 1951, in Bartlett, Ill.
June worked at Elgin National Watch Factory before she was married. After getting married, June and her husband moved to Woodstock, Ill., where they lived from 1952-1976, when they moved to Monroe. June worked alongside David, taking care of their farm. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers, and was an excellent cook. June also enjoyed volunteering her time to the Ag Chest, and making baked goods for local blood drives and fundraisers. She had been a member of the Monroe United Methodist Church, City Country Homemakers, and bowled for two leagues for many years. She also enjoyed her Tuesday morning ladies coffee group. June and Dave also liked an occasional trip to the casino. The biggest love of her life was her family; she especially loved her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
June is survived by her husband, David of Monroe; children, Wayne Miller of Monroe, Nancy (Chuck) Duhai of Woodstock, Ill., and Cindy (Brian) Zimmerman, of Monroe; grandchildren, Chad (Lindsey Kaempfer) Duhai of Monroe, Justin (Rachel) Duhai of Elk Grove, Ill., Lindsey (Nick) Guerra of Crystal Lake, Ill., Kelsey (Alex) Hartz of Rockton, Ill., and Brianna (Taylor) Holmes of Grafton, Wis.; great-grandchildren, Owen and Carson Duhai, Trent and Olivia Guerra, Lillian Hartz, and baby Holmes due January 2019; sisters, Ruth Rosenwinkel of Bartlett, Ill., and Marge Drendel of Gilberts, Ill.; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Borhart of Huntley, Ill., and Carol (David) Bahr of Burlington, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, George and Ervin (Marie) Landwehr; mother- and father-in-law, Chris and Clara Miller; brothers-in-law, Harvey Rosenwinkel, Floyd Drendel, and George Borhart; and sister-in-law, Betty (Ab) Tinberg.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 29, 2018, at the Monroe United Methodist Church with Pastor Randy Booth officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018, from 2-5 p.m. at the Shriner-Hager-Gohlke Funeral Home; and on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Memorials may be made to Monroe United Methodist Church or the Wisconsin Parkinson’s Foundation, 2819 W. Highland Blvd., Milwaukee, WI 53208.
