Josephine Marcarello, 95, Woodstock

Josephine Marcarello, 95, Woodstock, died Saturday, April 2, 2016, at the Swedish American Hospital, Rockford, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born June 23, 1920, to James and Ida (Spagnoli) Ricci in Warren, Ohio. 

On Nov. 26, 1949, she married the love of her life, Matthew Marcarello, and together they celebrated more than 60 years of marriage.

She was active in service and Bible education work as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses for more than 85 years. She was a very accomplished pianist and enjoyed sharing her gift of music with her family and friends. She was an avid reader, and she loved sewing, cooking and baking. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her loving family.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Gerald) Crumbacher; three granddaughters, Veronica (Allan) Olson, Alicia (Waldemar) Fabian and Natalia Crumbacher; three great-grandchildren, Avery Rose Olson, Giada Fabian and Sophia Fabian; a brother, Adam Ricci; a sister-in-law, Jean Ricci; two nephews, John and Ricky; and a niece, Susan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband on June 6, 2010; and a brother, Carmen Ricci.

A memorial gathering will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at a later date.
