Joseph “Joe” “Papa” Albert Flashing, 71, Woodstock, died Monday, Aug. 26, 2013, at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born May 13, 1942, in Chicago to Joseph John and Gertrude Flashing.
Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Judy (Quinn) Flashing; a son, Joseph E. (Cindy) Flashing; three daughters, Jennifer (Phil) Heuck, Kathy (Tom) Manka and Karen (Dave) Holden; eight grandchildren, Joseph J. Flashing, Jazmin Flashing, Hannah Blakey, Emma Heuck, Katelyn Manka, Frank Manka, Alison Holden and Andrea Holden; a sister, Barbara (Dan) Burke; nieces and nephews; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation was Aug. 29 and 30 at Davenport Family Funeral Home, Crystal Lake.
A funeral Mass was Aug. 30 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Crystal Lake. A private burial took place at Crystal Lake Memorial Park.
