Jean Rosater (née Pavelchak), 85

Jean Rosater (née Pavelchak), age 85, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2023, with her loving family by her side.

Jean was born in Akron, Ohio, on March 13, 1938. She attended business school in Hartford, Conn. Jean later worked as a secretary before becoming a stewardess at Capital and United airlines, where she met her husband, Jim. They married in Barrington, Ill., in 1964, then moved to Bull Valley, where she lived until her passing.

Jean loved her grounds in Bull Valley and enjoyed walking among the pines and woods. She was active in the past with the Bull Valley Association, Fine Arts, and many civic charities. Jean always stayed active with her family, especially when it came to tennis.

She traveled often with her husband on humanitarian missions with Project Orbis International to China, Africa, Syria, Mongolia, Cuba, Eastern Europe (Albania and Bulgaria), as well as numerous countries around the world for pleasure before coming home to the greatest place in her heart, the United States of America. Jean loved life and all that it offered. She woke up every day with joy in her heart and loved all things, especially her family and her little cats, Scooter and Cody.

Jean is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, James Cleland Rosater; loving children, Stephan Paul (Joanne) Rosater, Jason Cleland (Erica) Rosater, and Jennifer Lynn Rosater; cherished grandchildren, Paul James Rosater, Alejandro Esquivel, Stephen Rosater, Cullen Rosater, and Bennet Rosater; brother, Daniel (Carol) Pavelchak; sisters-in-law, Sharon Boyle and Jayne Boyle; and many nieces and nephews.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Olga Pavelchak; sister, Sonia Pavelchak; brother, Paul (Doris) Pavelchak; mother-in-law, Mary Jane Boyle; and grandson, Andrew Rosater.
