Jean Ann Brown, 82, Rockford, formerly of Woodstock, died Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center, Rockford, following a lengthy illness.
She was born April 17, 1932, to Edgar L. and Olive (Deem) Tislow.
On Sept. 7, 1953, she married James J. Brown at St. Francis Xavier Church in Vincennes, Ind.
She was a devout Catholic and a graduate of Saint Rose Academy, Vincennes. She was artistic and loved music, continuing her education at several schools. She later developed a talent for collecting and restoring antiques.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, James J. Brown II, Rockford, Thomas G. Brown, Rockford, and Timothy A. (Kim) Brown, Oregon, Wis.; a brother-in-law, Ronald G. (Kay) Brown, Vincennes; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her mother- and father-in-law, Conrad R. and Lillian Osterhage Brown; a sister, Mary Lou (Robert) Barcus; a sister, Marjory (Richard) Hudson; and a nephew, Patrick Hudson.
Arrangements are pending with Honquest Family Funeral Home, Loves Park. Interment will be in Memorial Cemetery, Vincennes. Memorials can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1111 S. Alpine Road, Rockford, IL 61108.
