Jacquelyn Conger Leucht, 88

Jacquelyn Conger Leucht, 88, of Woodstock, passed away peacefully early in the morning of May 28, 2021, with her children by her side.

She was born July 4, 1932, in Minneapolis, Minn., the daughter of Graydon Wright and Wanda (Haluptzok) Conger. She graduated from South Shore High School, Chicago, in December 1949. Jackie married Charles E. Leucht on July 8, 1950, at St. Philip Neri Church, Chicago. In 1953 she and Chuck moved to Woodstock, building the Schneider Leucht Funeral Home with her mother and stepfather, Elmer Schneider. Jackie helped with clerical duties, later working 20 years for Dr. John C. Paul as receptionist, then five years with Joslyn and Green Law Office. A longtime member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Woodstock, and 30 years at St. Luke and St. Mary in Brownsville, Texas. Jackie belonged to the Mariola Club at St. Mary Woodstock, the Hosts Mentor program at Villarreal School, Olmito, Texas, and loved her work on Estate Sales in Illinois and Texas. Jackie and Chuck, both avid golfers, were 40-year members at the Woodstock Country Club and their retirement home at Rancho Viejo Resort & Country Club for 30 years.

Jackie is survived by her five children, Charles (Patricia), Regina (Wiley) Bell, Walter (Judy), Teresa (John) Pappas, and John (Cathy). She was “Mimi” to 25 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, all who looked forward to her candy jars. Mimi was greatly loved as the heart of the family. An awesome cook, hostess and sometimes blunt adviser.

The family would like to thank our Kindred Hospice family, Lisa, Donna, Theresa, and Father Adam, angels in disguise, along with dear nieces and nephews.

Preceding Jackie in death was her husband of 70 years, Charles E. Leucht; her beloved son, Kevin Christopher in1956; her parents; and a sister, Anita Boggs.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon, Saturday, June 5, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 312 Lincoln Ave., Woodstock. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Woodstock.

Public visitation will be Friday, June 4, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Schneider, Leucht, Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, 1211 Seminary Ave., Woodstock.
