Herbert “Herbie” Minard

Herbert “Herbie” Minard, 75, of Marengo, died June 17, 2018.

He was the assistant superintendent of the water and sewer department for the city of Elmhurst for 26 years. He enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, Cubs games, and gardening, and he was an all-around handyman.

Herbie is survived by his wife of 42 years, Marylou Williams Minard; four children, Catherine, James (Shane) (Jim), Joshua (Wendy), and Christopher (Heather); six grandchildren, Torin, Olivia, Jacob, Kiya, Braden and Logan; a brother, Albert “Buddy” (Debbie); a sister, Donna (Mickey) Urbanowicz; a brother-in-law, Joseph (Linda) Williams; two sisters-in-law, Pamela (Joe) Kabelis and Nancy Williams; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Mabel Barb Drotziger.

A Cubs-themed celebration of life will begin at noon Saturday, June 30, at 26014 Mary Road, Garden Paririe.

Arrangements were made by Northern Illinois Funeral Services.
