Hans-Peter Labude, 67

Hans-Peter Labude, 67, passed away on Sept. 1, 2023.

Born in Bremen, Germany, HP grew up in a town outside of Frankfurt called Dietzenbach in a house his father had built from the ground up. He came to the United States at the age of 35, where he met the mother of his children, Katie Labude.

For over 20 years, HP worked at CabConnect Inc., where he was the chief information officer. He was known for being adventurous and intelligent, but most importantly, loving and caring to those who knew him best. Despite moving permanently to the United States, he had frequently gone back and visited friends and family in Germany.

Lover of travel, he often spoiled his children with numerous trips to national parks such as Yellowstone, Yosemite, and the Grand Canyon, as well as trips abroad to Frankfurt, Munich, Paris, and Vienna, and lastly, many trips across the U.S. spanning from San Francisco to New York City. He may have had a stereotypical stern German face, but his smile was one of a kind.

HP was an amazing father, family member, and friend to all. He was always motivating his daughter and son during volleyball and basketball games in the front row, respectively. His love for photography can prove that. While he may have been the No. 1 fan of his children, they were his number one fans as well.

It is with great sorrow to say that Hans-Peter leaves behind his son, Caleb Labude, 25; daughter, Hannah Labude, 23; ex-wife and friend, Katie Labude, 65; nephew and niece, Julian and Gloria Ettling, 25; as well as many close friends, including Sabine Tigges, Tom and Patti Harker, Izzy Aala, Rifat Hasina and her son Rafi Khan, Lesya Ferenchak, and many more.

He reunites with his mother, Isla Labude; father, Hans-Joachim Labude; and brother, Joachim Labude.

The family will receive friends at Schneider, Leucht, Merwin, and Cooney Funeral Home, 1211 N. Seminary Ave., Woodstock, IL 60098, from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, 2023.
