Gordon James Dunnett Sr., 76

Gordon James Dunnett Sr. of Woodstock passed away on March 21, 2026. He was 76 years old. He was married to Nancy Dunnett (Miller) for 46 years until she passed away in 2014. He had two children and three grandchildren.

Gordy spent his career excavating, and his true passion was restoring antique tractors, hobby farming, and raising farm animals with his granddaughters. His love of tractors was passed down to his son and grandson, who carry on the renovation of antique tractors in their spare time. He loved playing checkers with his grandkids. His grandchildren were his pride and joy!

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Dunnett; his parents, Stella and James Dunnett; his sister, Lois Terell; and his brother, David Dunnett. He is survived by his son, Gordon Dunnett Jr., and his wife, Susan Dunnett, and their two children, Ireland and Gunner Dunnett; his daughter, Amy Jones (Dunnett) and her husband, Todd Jones, and their daughter Liberty Jones. He is also survived by siblings Ron Dunnett, Kathy Warzinski, Barb Daschner, Sharon Burton, and Lucy Green.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. at the Schneider, Leucht, Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, 1211 N. Seminary Ave., Woodstock, IL 60098. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery in Woodstock.
