Glen Northup, 92, passed on Jan. 28, 2022.
He was born in Selma, Iowa, and passed peacefully in his home in rural Woodstock. Glen was a veteran who served in Germany. When he returned from service, he worked with various farmers until starting a 50-year career with Local 150 operating engineers.
Glen enjoyed his retirement, camping and visiting friends, family, and music festivals.
Glen is survived by his wife of 72 years, Lucy (Roberson) Northup; their children, Connie (Pete) Roth, Curt (Chris) Northup, and, Becky (Bob) Williams; grandchildren, Sean (Nikki) Roth, Scott (Amanda) Roth, Nicole (Matt) Northup, Jennifer (Dylan) Stern, Emily (Mike) Chrisos, Jarrel (Robyn) Williams, Nathaniel Williams, and Joshua Williams; and eight great-grandchildren, Madison, Brook, Michael, Blake, Wyatt, Marshall, Boe, and Evelynn. He adored them all and took great pride in them.
A private service will be held, with a celebration of Glen’s life planned for June of this year. Donations may be made to VFW Post 5040, McHenry County 4-H, or Ronald McDonald House Charities.
