Elva Colcord, 93, Capron, died Sunday, Dec.20, 2015, at St. Anthony Hospital, Rockford.
She was born Nov. 20, 1922, to Earnest and Ella (Jacobson) Bauman in Hebron .
She loved quilting, doing crafts and collecting teapots.
Survivors include a son, David (Joanne) Colcord; three daughters, Janice Colcord, Joyce (David) Bauer and Joan Colcord; four grandchildren, Scott (Tricia) Colcord, Aaron (Natalia) Colcord, Valarie (Robert) Svihlik and Clint Westphal; eight great-grandchildren, Tyler, Zachary, Charlie, Katie, Allie, Joshua, Christina and Rachel; and her beloved cat, Nora.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur Colcord; a son, James Colcord; and three brothers, Earnest Bauman, Herbert (Josephine) Bauman and Irwin Bauman.
Visitation and funeral were held Dec. 26 at Schneider-Leucht-Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, Woodstock. Burial was at McHenry County Memorial Park, Woodstock.
Memorials can be made to the Capron Rescue Squad or a charity of the donor’s choice.
