Edwin Harold Thurow

Edwin Harold Thurow, 70, Woodstock, died Friday, Oct. 6, 2017, after a valiant battle with a debilitating illness.

He was born Aug. 29, 1947, to Harold and Marian (Engebretson) Thurow.

He loved the outdoors and was a skilled hunter, avid fisherman, master tradesman and gifted musician.

His zest for life, compassion, humor and talents will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his wife, Dale Eileen Thurow; daughters, Shari and Lori (fiancée Luke Appel); grandchildren, Nova (Daniel) McGivern and Halley (Adam) Milbratz, great-grandchildren, Brantley and Jameson McGivern, Marley and Metallica Peto and Steven and London Milbratz; a brother, James (Joan); and nephews, Joshua (Heather) Thurow and their children, Megan, Bennet and Camryn, and Justin (Jill) and their children, Macie and Daniel; and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister.

A celebration of his life will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, at Querhammer and Flagg Funeral Home, 500 W. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake.
