Doris L. Andrews

Doris L. Andrews, 72, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at her home in Wonder Lake.

She was born to John W. and Marie (Smith) Walters on June 5, 1941,  in Norris City.

On July 7, 1959, she married Charles Maynard, and they later divorced. 

On Oct. 28, 1972, she married James A. Andrews Sr., in Woodstock.

She worked as a CNA at Valley Hi Nursing Home and Harvard Retirement Home.  She loved spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed playing bingo. 

Survivors include her 10 children, John (Sarah) Maynard, John Andrews, Michelle (William) Evans, Lisa (Mark) Thomsen, Mandy (Bill) Mitchell, James (Susan) Andrews Jr., Mark (Karen) Heeter, Barb Svitak, Dawn Brohammer and Garnet (Steve) Standish; 23 grandchildren, D.J. Webb, Keely and Logan Yancy, Shawn, Tyson, Lance and MacKenzie Andrews, Billy, Alex, Lexi, Jessica and Riley Mitchell, Scott (Jori), Sabrina and Tom (Brittany) Svitak, Cori (Dan) Hansen, Pam, Patti (Rocky) and Mike Heeter, Devan Thomsen, Johnny and Kirsten Andrews and Aaron Brohammer; 11 great-grandchildren; sibilings, Bob and Ed Walters, Helen Jean, Richard (Carol) Andrews, Helen (Jim) Miller and David Andrews; and many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her husband;  a sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy (Ron) Harrison; a brother, Donald Walters; a sister-in-law, Dee Walters; an infant sister, Lynda; an infant daughter, Tammy Jo Maynard; and a son, Wayne Andrews. 

A memorial gathering and service were held at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, Harvard.
