Diane Doty-Brown, age 69, of Woodstock, passed away Feb. 15, 2022, in Barrington, Ill
She was born on Oct. 9, 1952, in Elgin, Ill. She is the daughter of Kenneth and Doris (Hunt) Doty.
Diane was raised and lived most of her life in Woodstock. She was a 1970 graduate of Woodstock High School. She was a stay-at-home mom, Girl Scout Troop leader, and Sunday school teacher. She was also active with her daughters’ schools as a room mom and with the PTO at Dean Street School. Later in her life, she went back to school, and in 1997, she graduated with her BSN from St. Anthony’s College of Nursing in Rockford.
Diane worked as a pediatric/medical-surgical nurse and then infection prevention nurse at Centegra Woodstock Hospital. She was also an infectious disease nurse with the McHenry County Department of Health. She gained many friendships through the years at both jobs and in life. Diane loved working as a nurse and spending time with her family and friends. Her most favorite roles were that of mom and grandma, and she was the best at both. She had many health struggles, and she fought every one of them fiercely to the end. She loved her family and friends, and will be missed so much.
