Delmar A. Eckert

Delmar A. Eckert , 89, Woodstock, died Friday, Oct. 27, 2017, at Centegra Hospital-Huntley.

He was born June 14, 1928, to Floyd and Delcie Eckert in Woodstock.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Woodstock. For 30 years, he played the trumpet in the Woodstock City Band. He was known as a jokester with a good sense of humor.

Survivors include his ex-wife Dorothy (Fischer) Eckert, and a son, Michael Eckert.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son.

A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, Nov. 11, at the First United Methodist Church, 201 W. South St., Woodstock. The celebration will begin with a gathering at 10:30 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m.

Burial will be private.

Arrangements were made by Schneider, Leucht, Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, Woodstock.
