David John Boyce, 79

David John Boyce, age 79, of Wonder Lake, Ill., passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 22, 2021. He was born on July 28, 1941, the son of Norman and Annette (Olson) Boyce in Chicago. David married the love of his life, Pansy (Neva), in 1965.

David retired from AT&T after 30 years of service and was loving his life of retirement. He was a proud member of the National Guard and loved all things model trains. David was a family man; he was a loving father and grandfather.

David is survived by his wife, Pansy Boyce; children, Monica Bradtke, Bill Boyce, James Boyce, Allen (Carrie) Boyce, and David Boyce Jr.; and six grandchildren, Alex, Sam, Jacob, Lucas, Michael, and Elizabeth.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Annette (Olson) Boyce.

A visitation will be held on April 29, 2021, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Justen’s Wonder Lake Funeral home, 7611 W. Hancock Drive Wonder Lake, Ill. Visitation will continue on April 30, 2021, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Justen’s Wonder Lake Funeral Home, with a funeral service to follow. A graveside service will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery at noon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wonder Lake Fire Department.

In accordance with public gathering restrictions, attendees are expected to wear a mask and observe social distancing. The funeral home staff with monitor capacity limits and allow up to 50 people in at a time.
