David F. Miller, 92

David F. Miller, age 92, of Monroe, Wis., died peacefully Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021, at Monroe Hospice Home. He was born on March 31, 1929, in Dundee, Ill., the son of Chris and Clara (Gloede) Miller. He attended Dundee High School. David married his best friend and the light and love of his life. June E. Landwehr. on Nov. 23, 1951, in Bartlett, Ill. He was a dairy farmer his entire life, and he never really retired. His last day driving a tractor was July 23.

He was a member of Monroe United Methodist Church and was Clarno Township supervisor for over 30 years. David was happiest when spending time with his family and always enjoyed it when the grandchildren and great-grandchildren came to spend time at the farm with him. He was a man of faith, family, friends, love of the land, and sharing memories.

He is survived by his children, Wayne Miller of Monroe, Nancy (Chuck) Duhai of Woodstock, and Cindy (Brian) Zimmerman of Monroe; grandchildren, Chad (Lindsey Kaempfer) Duhai of Monroe, Justin (Rachel) Duhai of Elk Grove Village, Ill., Lindsey (Nick) Guerra of Crystal Lake, Ill., Kelsey (Alex) Hartz of Rockton, Ill., and Brianna (Taylor) Holmes of Grafton, Wis.; great-grandchildren, Owen and Carson Duhai, Trent and Olivia Guerra, Lillian and Theo Hartz, and Harper and Easton Holmes; sisters, Marilyn Borhart of Huntley, Ill., and Carol (David) Bahr of Burlington, Ill.; and sister-in-law, Ruth Rosenwinkel of Bartlett, Ill. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; sister, Betty Tinberg; and a brother in infancy, James Miller.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Saturday, Dec. 11, 2021, at Monroe United Methodist Church, with Pastor Jeffrey Meyers officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. A visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to either the Monroe United Methodist Church or Monroe Hospice Home.

The family is recommending everyone wear a mask and social distance.
