Darlene May DeFerrari

Darlene May DeFerrari, 90, died peacefully at home Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018, with her family by her side.

She was born Feb. 10, 1928.

She was a kind, compassionate, generous neighbor and friend. She taught her children a love of books, music, art, movies and plays to enrich their lives. They remain forever grateful. Her love of all animals was comparable to St. Francis of Assisi, touching many furry, feathery hearts. Her love for God led her, at the age of 80, to become the oldest person to be confirmed at St. Mary Church, Woodstock. She was overjoyed and spent hours in their adoration room praying for her family and friends.

Survivors included her husband, Larry DeFerrari; children Jim Ford, Kathleen Labude and Scott (Stephanie) Ford; grandchildren, Shannon (Bill) Brennon, Aly Ford, Caleb and Hannah Labude; and  great-grandchildren, Billy and Colleen Brennan.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at St. Mary Church, 312 Lincoln Ave., Woodstock, followed by a gathering and meal at 3 p.m. at 1320 Portage Lane.
