Darlene L. Spurlock, 73, Woodstock, died Thursday, July 30, 2015, at Centegra Hospital – Woodstock.
She was born July 1, 1942, to Wilhelm and Magdalena (Tettinger) Kuschmirz in Elgin.
On June 29, 1963, she married Paul Spurlock.
She spent a majority of her life in Elgin. She worked as a secretary at banks in the Elgin area. She was a member of The Turner Club. Her most important job was being a loving grandmother.
Survivors include two daughters, Tracy Spurlock and Michelle (Andrew) Myshkowec; three sons, Rick (Barb) Spurlock, Michael (Donna) Spurlock and Steven (Rita) Spurlock; 19 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several brothers and sisters-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, John Kuschmirz; a sister, Evelyn (Paul) Cerasa; and a grandson, Michael Spurlock Jr.
A gathering of friends and relatives will be held from 11 p.m. until 2 p.m. when there will be a service, Saturday, Aug. 8, 2015, at her daughter Michelle’s home, 2440 Chopin Lane, Woodstock.
Arrangements were made by Schneider-Leucht-Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, Woodstock.
