Clara R. Capaccio, 92, died July 18, 2018, with her family by her side.

She was born March 11, 1926, to Martin and Josephine (Hylock) Pejza. She married the late Vito Capaccio on May 20, 1950, in Chicago.

Clara was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church for 60 years. She enjoyed being active in the church by running funeral luncheons and helping out whenever she could. She and her husband owned Red Mill Restaurant from 1966 until 1976 and very much enjoyed the people there. Clara loved making scrapbooks and photo albums to celebrate her family’s journeys through life. She loved to travel and spend time with her family.

Clara is survived by three children, Cathy Zimmerman, Bruce (Celia) Capaccio and Michael (Sandy) Capaccio; four grandchildren, Andy Klimczak, April Zimmerman, Anna Capaccio, and Nicholas Capaccio; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a son-in-law, Hartzel Zimmerman. She was the last remaining of 13 brothers and sisters.

Visitation and funeral were Monday, July 23 at Schneider, Leucht, Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, Woodstock. Burial was at Calvary Cemetery.
