Caroline P. Barry

Caroline P. Barry, 82, Woodstock, died Saturday, July 11, 2015, at Centegra Hospital – Woodstock, with her family by her side.

She was born Aug. 24, 1932, to Frank and Kathryn (Behlke) Urban in McHenry.

On May 26, 1951, she married Walter R. Barry in Woodstock.

She lived in Woodstock for most of her life. She worked as a certified dietary manager at Sunset Manor, now Hearthstone Manor, in Woodstock for 25 years. Her faith, the Free Methodist Church in Woodstock and spending time with her loving family and friends were most important to her. She was an amazing cake decorator and enjoyed needlework, crocheting, gardening and playing cards.

She is survived by three daughters, Penny (John) Johnson, Peggy (Chris) Grasley and Carol (Gunnar) Berglund; a daughter-in-law, Donna Barry; nine grandchildren, Adam (Michelle) Cook, Jessica (Matt) Greget, Marc (Brooke) Grasley, Andrea Grasley, Andrew and Alex Barry, Shannon (Robert) Diamond, Brett (Sandy) Fredrick and Phillip Fredrick; two step-grandchildren, Jaclyn (Sean) Hodges and Jesse Johnson; 10 great-grandchildren, Alexis, Zachary, Colin and Sara Grasley, Paige Mackay, Owen Greget, Isabella Cook, Alexis and Jared Fredrick and London Diamond; two step-great-grandchildren, Oliver Greget and Emma Howard; two sisters, MaryAnn Harter and Linda (Dennis) Mann; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on June 19, 2015; a son, Donald Barry; a son-in-law, Rob Cook; a great-grandson, Ethan Mackay; a great-granddaughter, Zoe Rae Grasley; and two sisters, Katherine Zimmerman and Lucille Westphal.

Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 18, until the funeral service at 1 p.m. at the Free Methodist Church, 934 N. Seminary Ave., Woodstock. Burial will be at McHenry County Memorial Park, Woodstock.

Memorials can be made to the Free Methodist Church, Woodstock.
