Brandon Michael Scott, 50, of Huntley, passed away suddenly Sunday evening, June 18, 2023.
He was born Sept. 10, 1972, in Sycamore, the son of Sharon Scott.
Brandon was known for his infectious smile, beautiful laugh, warm hugs, captivating green eyes, and for being “lefty.” Brandon was a graduate of the 1990 Class of Marengo High School. He was the first from his family to graduate from college with a Bachelor of Science in marketing from Florida State University in 1997.
His career was dedicated to being a procurement professional. His most recent employer was Mitsubishi Logisnext Americas in Marengo. He was proud of his Irish heritage and enjoyed visiting family abroad following his college graduation.
Brandon loved to work with his hands – DIY home projects, working on cars, and anything requiring “heavy lifting.” Brandon enjoyed mini-getaway adventures, biking, ’80s music, and all Hostess products. Brandon was a huge fan of the musician Sara Evans, traveling frequently to see her perform with Jolene and thought of his children every single time the song “I Could Not Ask for More” was played. He was deep in faith with God, which grew ever more in the recent years. Brandon was loved by many and will be deeply missed by his Michael, Nicole, Jolene, and others.
He is survived by his son, Michael Scott-Williams; his daughter, Nicole Scott; his life partner, Jolene White; his mom and stepfather, Sharon (Dennis) Bowen; his brother, Derrik (Joan) Bowen; sister, Kelsey Bowen; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, family, and friends.
He is preceded by his grandparents, Jim and Kathleen Scott.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 28, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 312 Lincoln Ave. in Woodstock.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 27, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the James A. O’Connor Funeral Home, 11603 E. Main St. in Huntley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Brandon’s name may be made to an Educational Fund for Nicole. Please make checks payable to Nicole Scott. All funds collected will be placed into an educational fund that has been created for Nicole. Mail to P.O. Box 95, Huntley, IL 60142.
