Beatrice Edith Meyer

Beatrice Edith Meyer, 97, Woodstock, died Friday, March 16, 2018, at Hearthstone Manor Nursing Home, Woodstock, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born March 20, 1920, in Forfar, Scotland, to Robert and Beatrice (Cox) Byars.

On Dec. 25, 1944, she married Roger F. Meyer

She was employed for more than 20 years at Oak Industries, Crystal Lake. She also found the time to work many part- time jobs including at Centegra Hospital and Doctor Purdy’s office, Woodstock. She was known as an artist, sketching many things for family and friends. She loved animals, gardening and sewing. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was loved and will be missed.

Survivors include a son, David (Linda Rizzo) Meyer; three daughters, Carol (Leonard) Larsen, Linda (Larry) Fay and Judith (Ronald) Habbley; seven grandchildren, Andrew (Judy Landorf) Waller, Astrid (Peter Havlis) Larsen, Laurie (Brian) Smith, David Meyer, Brian Meyer, Jason (Rachel Flynn) Habbley, and Rebecca (John) Phillips; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a sister, Margaret Ritzert.

A memorial gathering will be held at the at 10 a.m. until the memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 24, at Schneider, Leucht, Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, 1211 N. Seminary Ave., Woodstock. The Rev. David Inglis will officiate. Private burial at a later date will be in Oakland Cemetery, Woodstock.

Memorials can be made to Hearthstone Manor Activity Fund or JourneyCare Hospice.
