Amy T. Siok

Amy T. Siok, 45, McHenry, died suddenly Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017.

She was born Jan. 24, 1972, to Henry “Ted” Siok and Jeraldine M. Siok.

She graduated from McHenry High School-East and attended McHenry County College and Columbia College.

She will be best remembered for her fun-loving ways, as a prankster, innovator and a mentor to many. She had an outgoing personality and an infectious laugh.

She loved to play softball and cook. Above all, she cherished her family and many friends. A very compassionate person, she gave much of her time and talent to raising money for several organizations such as veterans, breast cancer awareness and the Alzheimer’s Association.

Amy worked for nearly 10 years as director of dining services at Fox Point, a senior lifestyle community. She loved her job, the staff and her residents. She also worked at Fox Hole Pizza, where she was known for her soup of the day.

Survivors include her mother and step father, Tom Schar; a sister, Laura (Mike) McGee; aunts and uncles, Joanne and Jim Duffy, Sue Carr, Shirley and Gary Rosiak and Nila and Rich Siok; many cousins; and dear friends including her best friend, Becky Covalt.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ted Siok; grandparents, Henry and Rita Siok and John and Stella Bell; and an uncle, Rick Carr.

Visitation was Aug. 11 at Schneider, Leucht, Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, Woodstock. The funeral Mass was Aug. 12, at St. Patrick Church, McHenry. Interment services were private.
