Christian country artist John Paul Von Arx is performing live on Thursday, May 26, to raise critical funds benefiting sex trafficking survivors in McHenry County.

The “Break Through Benefit Concert for Sex Trafficking Survivors” will be held outdoors at 6:00 p.m. at Niko’s Red Mill Tavern, located at 1040 Lake Ave., Woodstock, IL. Early bird ticket prices are $30 and can be purchased online. Tickets can also be purchased at the concert venue for $40. Admission is free for children under 12 and people with special needs.

In the greater Chicagoland area, 16,000 – 25,000 women and girls are sexually exploited every year. Of the few who are rescued or able to leave and get help, 80% will go back to the violent chaos of the sex trade if there are no long-term restorative programs available for them.

Refuge for Women Chicago, located in McHenry County, breaks through the darkness of sex trafficking to bring hope, healing, and restoration to sexually exploited survivors through faith-based residential healing programs. Survivors are offered 12 months of trauma-informed care through 24/7 compassionate staffing as they heal from trauma.

Refuge Chicago believes in empowering sexually exploited women to live a life of freedom with dignity and hope. Executive Director, Meredith Hodge, understands that the mission of Refuge Chicago involves the efforts of many, stating, “This event is a fantastic way for our community to unite in making a life-altering difference for survivors of sex trafficking and exploitation.”

John Paul Van Arx grew up in northern Illinois, surrounded by music at an early age through his family band that played oldies/classic country. He affirms his support saying, “My hope is that this concert will inspire many people to support the mission of Refuge for Women and aid in the healing journey of the women they serve.”

Van Arx’s album, Break Through, is now available for streaming.

All are invited to enjoy the concert while being a vital part of why survivors can “break through” to find freedom and restoration. Learn more or donate at https://refugeforwomen.org/breakthrough/.
