Joyce Marie Wiemuth, 84

With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Joyce M. Wiemuth, 84, of Woodstock, who left this world peacefully on Dec. 4, 2025, surrounded by the family she cherished above all else.

Born on June 6, 1941, in Indianapolis, Ind., Joyce grew up in Woodstock, where she graduated from Woodstock High School in 1959. Not long after, she met the love of her life, Joseph Wiemuth II. Married in 1961, they built a beautiful life together over 64 years – one centered on love, laughter, and unwavering devotion.

Joyce dedicated many years to serving the community through her work at the State Bank of Woodstock, Amcore Bank, and later at Woodstock Memorial Hospital. She was a proud lifetime member of the First Methodist Church and the Woodstock Moose Lodge.

More than anything, Joyce loved her family. She found joy in gatherings filled with laughter, stories, and the presence of her dogs, Tippy and Maddie. She enjoyed traveling, especially her time spent in Destin, Fla., and was known for her love of dancing and the lasting friendships she held close from her high school years.

Joyce had a special way of lighting up every room she entered. Her warmth, humor, and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

She is lovingly survived by her husband, Joseph Wiemuth II; her son, Joseph Wiemuth III; her daughters, Heidi Wiemuth and Terry (Niall) Michelson; her sisters, Denise (David) Hays, Kimberly (Milt) Deemer, and Lisa (Jay) Whittemore; her brother, John Reed; and her nieces and nephew, Jennifer Samorian, Rebecca (Eric) Jansen, and Paul Hayes.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, John and Alice Reed, and her brother, Gary Reed.

A celebration of Joyce’s life will be held on June 6, 2026, at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Woodstock.
