Karen A. Koreba

Karen A. Koreba, 64, Wonder Lake, died Wednesday, May 23, 2012.

She was born Nov. 27, 1947, in Alexandria, Va.

She moved to Charlotte, N.C. as an infant and lived there until 1967, when she moved to Chicago to attend training to become a stewardess with United Airlines. She was employed with United Airlines until her retirement in 2000.

On Oct. 31, 1970, she married Kenneth C. Koreba in Chicago.  They moved to Wonder Lake in 1976 and, since 2004, also has spent time at their house in St. James, N.C.

Survivors include her husband of 42 years; a daughter, Keni (Matthew) Rienks, Woodstock; two grandchildren, Eden and Evan Rienks; two brothers, Thane Anderson and Andy (Susan) Anderson, both of South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, George Anderson; and her mother, Merle Anderson McLester.

The visitation was June 1 at Colonial Funeral Home, McHenry.

The funeral service will be held in North Carolina in July.
