Deborah Schoepke

Deborah Schoepke, 75, Woodstock, died Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at the Hospice & Palliative Care of Northeastern Illinois Inpatient Unit in Woodstock.

She was born Oct. 24, 1936, in Woodstock, to Howard and Lucile (Stratton) Courier.

On Feb. 26, 1961, she married William Schoepke. 

She was a lifelong resident of Woodstock and member of First United Methodist Church, Woodstock. She was active in church fund-raising events and became famous for her coffee cakes.

She worked as a receptionist and coordinator of the Fun Timers at the State Bank of Woodstock. 

She was co-founder of the Double Dilemma Twins Club, a member of the Memorial Hospital Auxillary Coners fundraising group and was actively involved in helping her husband at Tidy Carpets, Woodstock.

She loved vacationing with her family in Townsend, Wis.

Survivors include two sons, William “Steve” (Nancy)  Schoepke and Keith Schoepke; a daughter, Sara (Bob) Goad; six grandchildren, Mitchell, Rachael, Matthew, William “Wil,” Emily and Zachary Schoepke; and a sister-in-law, Nora Courier.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a brother, David Courier.

Visitation was June 8 at the Schneider-Leucht-Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, Woodstock.

The funeral service was June 9 at First United Methodist Church, Woodstock, and was officiated by the Rev. David Seyller.

The burial was at McHenry County Memorial Park.
