John C. Wenzlaff

John C. Wenzlaff, 64, Wonder Lake, died Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at home.

He was born July 4, 1949, in Chicago to Helmut P. and Florence (Schult) Wenzlaff. 

On Feb. 13, 1971, he married Karen M. Walton in Chicago.

He worked for more than 30 years at Matrix IV in Woodstock. He was with Wonder Lake Company No. 2 Fire Department for 13 years. He was a member of the Woodstock Moose since 1992 and an avid motorcycle enthusiast. Most especially, he was a beloved husband, father and wonderful grandfather.

Survivors include his mother; a daughter, Regina (James) Millar,  Crystal Lake; two sons, Steven (Elise) Rini, Twin Lakes, Wis., and Christopher Rini, Rockton; five grandchildren, Alexander Millar and Anthony, Samantha, Emily and Allison Rini; two brothers, Gary (Brigette) Wenzlaff and Glen Wenzlaff; and a sister, Cindy (Michael) Saelinger.

He was preceded in death by his wife, June 14, 2012; his father; and a brother, Bruce Wenzlaff.

A memorial and prayer service were Aug. 15 at Colonial Funeral Home, McHenry. 

Interment was private.
