Irene F. Gorski

Irene F. Gorski,  93, Wonder Lake, died Sunday, March 30, 2014, at Centegra Hospital-Woodstock. 

She was born March 5, 1921, to John and Anna (Meiger) Vondra, in Chicago.  

On Sept. 28, 1940, she married Ted Gorski in Chicago.  They moved to Wonder Lake on Sunset Drive in 1977. She loved spending time at home with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She was an avid bowler, an excellent cook and enjoyed playing cards with her friends from the Woodstock and Wonder Lake area. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.

Survivors include a son, Dr. Richard (Kristina) Gorski,  Ringwood; six grandchildren, Steven Gorski, Ringwood, Dr. Michael (Heidi) Gorski, Indianola, Iowa, Matthew (Erin Young) Gorski, Wonder Lake, Kathleen (William) Coleman, South Beloit, Phillip (Molly) Gorski, Roscoe, and Margaret (Douglas) Conaghan, McHenry; 15 great-grandchildren, Amanda, Madeline, Grace, William, Elizabeth, Joseph, James, Sarah, Eric, Taylor, Ryan, Dylan, Kyle, Abby and Brody.

She was preceded in death by her husband March 2, 1999; and her parents. 

Visitation was April 3 and 4 at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, McHenry.

The funeral Mass was at Christ the King Catholic Church, Wonder Lake. Interment was at Christ the King Cemetery.
