Maurice R. Harrison

Maurice R. Harrison, 92, Woodstock, died Friday, May 23, 2014, at his home.

He was born Aug. 5, 1921, in Kansas City, Kan., to Joseph and Marie (Mege) Harrison. 

On Sept. 22, 1944, he married Billye Katherine O’Hanlon in Sherman, Texas.

He was a veteran, serving in the Army during World War II. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed woodworking, bird watching and taking long hikes. He loved to listen to classical music and enjoyed a good martini. 

Survivors include a daughter, Kathryn (Don) Campbell; a brother, Jack (Gloria) Harrison; four grandchildren, Andrea (Rich) Debartolo, Terri (Reymundo) Quezada, Don (Darlene) Campbell and Scott Campbell; 13 great-grandchildren, Richie and Nicole Debartolo, Alyssa and Samantha Bradley, Dominick Quezada, Ashley, Austin, Alexander, Avary, Aaron, Scottie, Corey and Jordan Campbell; and his buddy, a great-great-grandchild, Jaiden.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife May 25, 1982; two brothers, Edward and Leroy Harrison; and a sister, Myrtle Biggs.

The visitation was May 27, and the funeral was May 28 at Schneider-Leucht-Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home. 

Burial with military honors was provided by VFW Post 5040 at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
