Velda “June” Gannon

Velda “June” Gannon, 83, Woodstock, died Sunday, March 19, 2017, in Oshkosh, Wis.

She was born June 3, 1933, to Loran and Ida (Gulgren) Crummer in Woodstock.  

On Sept. 6, 1952, she married Harold E. “Mike” Gannon in Woodstock.

She was a 1951 graduate of Woodstock High School, and was employed at the Schultz Brothers Department Store in Woodstock. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Woodstock.   She enjoyed crocheting and swimming. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and many friends.

Survivors include two children, Michael (Jeanne) Gannon, Woodstock, and Colleen (Charles) Simes; four grandchildren, Kelly (Tim) Fitzpatrick, Cale (Melissa) Simes, Tina (Kurt) Vavra and Todd (Amy) Gannon; six great-grandchildren, Kyle and Colleen Fitzpatrick, Allison Vavra, Conlan Leese, Tyce Gannon and Reagan Simes; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two sisters, Isabelle Colburn and Norma Winkelman.

The visitation and funeral were March 25 at the First United Methodist Church, Woodstock. Interment was at McHenry County Memorial Park Cemetery, Woodstock.

Memorials can be made in her name to Eden Meadows, 3151 Eden Court, Oshkosh, WI 54904-6639.

Arrangements were made by Schneider, Leucht, and Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home, Woodstock.
