A Cary man being held in the McHenry County Jail died after being found unresponsive in his cell.
Thomas M. Doheny, 51, was found unresponsive in his single-occupant cell during rounds at around 8:10 p.m. Nov. 17, according to a press release from the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office.
Correctional officers began life-saving measures, and Doheny was transported to Centegra Hospital-Woodstock, where he was pronounced dead at 8:53 p.m., according to the McHenry County Coroner.
Doheny had been held at the McHenry County Adult Correctional Facility since Nov. 1 for contempt of court, according to MCSO.
An autopsy is being performed by the Coroner’s Office, and the McHenry County Major Investigation Assistance Team is investigating the incident.
