Katherine Littner is a senior at Marian Central Catholic High School. She is the daughter of Barry and Laura Littner, Woodstock.
“Katherine is a compassionate individual who prioritizes service to others within her community. This is in addition to being a two-sport athlete who has achieved stellar academics. She is truly a benchmark for others,” said one of her teachers.
In school, Katherine is on the high honor roll, Principal’s List, National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, and in the top 10 percent of her class. Katherine also participates in varsity tennis and basketball, Key Club and is part of the NHS executive board, a writing lab tutor, a Kairos retreat leader and president of Marian Mentors. In the community, she volunteers for St. Mary mission trips, the Woodstock Food Pantry and religious education.
When asked who motivates her, Katherine replied, “My older brother Jack, who has inspired and motivated me whenever I felt like quitting. He pushes me to keep trying. He has always encouraged me to do more than he did and learn from his mistakes.”
When asked why she feels successful, Katherine replied, “I am persistent and set goals for myself and work hard to meet them, keeping things in perspective and enjoying life. My faith also keeps me grounded.”
