Police are investigating after a home in Woodstock was struck by a bullet early this morning.
Woodstock police responded to a report of gunshots in the 700 block of Barbary Lane at 3:28 a.m. Oct. 20. When officers arrived, they found a residence which had been struck by at least one bullet, according to a press release from the Woodstock Police Department.
There were no known injuries resulting from the gunfire, police said, and no one has been arrested. The Criminal Investigations Division is investigating what the WPD described as the unlawful discharge of a firearm.
Police will increase patrols in the area while the investigation continues. “However, the public is asked to have a level of vigilance by reporting any suspected suspicious behavior by unknown individuals within Woodstock,” the WPD said.
Police would not release any additional information about the incident because the investigation is open.
