Blaze damaged home on Raycraft Road

A Woodstock man was arrested in connection with a house fire which took place in unincorporated Woodstock last month.

Carl K. Rice, 28, faces an arson charge for allegedly starting a fire intentionally at a home in the 2900 block of Raycraft Road Sept. 22.

The Woodstock Fire/Rescue District was called to the home at around 7:17 p.m. that day. Deputies from the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office responded as well.

The fire caused substantial damage to the residence, but no one was injured in the blaze, according to MCSO. Rice was charged Oct. 20 with residential arson, a class 1 felony. Bond was set at $150,000. His court date is set for Oct. 31.
