Man transported in stable condition
A Woodstock man was airlifted after he injured himself with a saw.
Woodstock Fire/Rescue District personnel responded to the call in the 100 block of Sunshine Lane at 11:48 a.m. Sept. 13.
WFRD Captain Scott Nieman said the man injured his hand, possibly amputating three fingers.
“His injuries led us to believe he needed to be transported to a Level-1 trauma facility, so we called Flight for Life,” Nieman said. “He was transported by Flight for Life in stable condition.”
The man never lost consciousness during the incident and was airlifted to Lutheran General.
WFRD crews transported him from the residence to a Flight for Life landing site at the former location of Kentucky Fried Chicken near 2000 N. Seminary Ave.
Woodstock Police Department officers also responded, and crews were on the scene for approximately 30 minutes, according to Nieman.
