A Woodstock man was charged with aggravated battery in a public place after he allegedly got involved in a fight.
Colton M. Howell, 19, of Woodstock, was arrested Aug. 6 in the 1700 block of Walnut Drive, according to a press release from the Woodstock Police Department.
Police officers responded to a complaint of aggravated assault around 4:30 p.m.
An investigation by officers determined an altercation took place at Bates Park, 1500 N. Seminary Ave., between two female subjects. During the altercation, a boyfriend of one of the two females involved allegedly punched and kicked the female who was arguing with his girlfriend. The parties separated and went different ways, according to the press release.
After an arrest warrant was obtained for Howell, he was located by WPD officers and taken into custody. He was charged with one count of aggravated battery, a Class 3 felony. Howell was transported to the McHenry County Adult Correctional Facility where he remained in custody on $20,000 bond as of press time.
Howell is due in court Aug. 31.
