A 26-year-old Hebron man was killed July 2 when his motorcycle crashed in unincorporated Woodstock.
Anthony R. Para was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:54 p.m., according to a press release from the McHenry County Coroner’s Office.
Crews from Woodstock Fire/Rescue District and McHenry County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the scene of a crash in the 2200 block of Lamb Road.
Para was riding a 2016 Harley-Davidson while traveling northbound on Lamb Road when the motorcycle left the roadway to the east, hitting a mailbox and several large landscaping rocks, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office. The motorcycle rolled over, ejecting Para.
There were no passengers and no other vehicles were involved in the crash. Para was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, and the initial investigation indicated that alcohol and speed may have been factors in the crash, according to the press release from the Sheriff’s Office.
The cause of death was determined to be blunt force injuries to the head and cervical spine, according to the coroner’s office.
“We arrived on scene at the same time as the McHenry County Sheriff’s team, and he was already deceased,” WFRD Captain Brendan Parker said.
The investigation is ongoing by the MCSO Major Crash Investigation Unit and the coroner’s office.
